Carolon Medical Compression

Carolon Medical Compression is knitted with a unique stitch construction, covered elastic yarns and a smooth interior to make them easier to apply than other medical hosiery products. Carolon Medical Compression is designed to look and wear just like fashion hosiery or socks so that it isn’t obvious patients are wearing medical hosiery.

The importance of precise measurements

Precise measurements are necessary to select the correct size of Carolon Medical Compression product. The correct size ensures that the hosiery works as effectively as possible. • Palliative care

  • Mild to moderate oedema
  • Helping to prevent re-occurrence of venous leg ulcers
  • Varicose vein procedures (e.g. sclerotherapy, vein ligation, endovenous ablation)

Applying Carolon Medical Compression Hosiery*

  1. Turn garment inside out and insert toes into the appropriate toe area
  2. Then ease the foot part of the stocking/sock over the toes, instep and then around the heel
  3. Ensure the centre of the heel is positioned in the centre of the heel area of the stocking
  1. Apply the stocking/sock up over the leg.  For knee length ensure the top band fits comfortably just below your knee crease and for thigh length, ensure the stocking comfortably fits to the top of your thigh
  2. Smooth fabric using both hands gently, until the whole stocking is free of wrinkles
  3. Pull away and loosen the fabric at the toes to avoid any pressure at this area
