Devon™ positioning products can be used on any area of the body that requires pressure redistribution (e.g. elbows, knees and head). There are two products; Devon™ foot and heel protector and Devon™ utility pad – both designed to meet clinical needs.

Which side of the Devon™ utility pad do I put against the skin?

The convoluted side should be placed against the skin.

How long can Devon™ positioning products be used for?

The Devon™ positioning products are indicated for single patient use and can be used continuously until they are no longer needed. However, if they become damaged or soiled they should be replaced.

How much pressure can be redistributed?

Devon™ positioning products are proven to reduce pressure distribution by 48% at levels above 32mmHg^[1].

Can you use on very oedematous limbs?

Yes, however if you are concerned that Devon™ foot and heel protector may be snug consider Devon™ utility pad.

Can Devon™ positioning products be used in conjunction with each other?

Yes, you can use the Devon™ foot and heel protector and Devon™ utility pad at the same time to protect the heel and lower calf.

Can Devon™ positioning products be used on multiple patients?

No, Devon™ positioning products are for single patient use only.

Can Devon™ positioning products be washed or cleaned?

No, Devon™ positioning products are not recommended for mechanical cleansing. Soiled or damaged products should be disposed of in accordance with your local clinical waste policy.

Can Devon™ positioning products be cut?

Yes, the Devon™ utility pad can be cut to suit clinical requirements.

Can a dressing still be worn with Devon™ positioning products?

Yes, it is important that appropriate wound care guidelines are adhered to as this forms part of a pressure ulcer prevention and treatment strategy.

What are Devon™ positioning products made out of?

Devon™ positioning products are molded from non-toxic, latex-free foam.
