Woulgan® is a wound care gel containing soluble beta-glucan (SBG®) and is intended for the treatment of complicated wounds such as Diabetic Foot Ulcers and hard to heal wounds.
The soluble beta-glucan (SBG®) in Woulgan® has the ability to modulate the immunological system by activating macrophages in the wound bed to promote rapid wound healing, and has been proven to close wounds faster[1].
Woulgan® is indicated for wounds with low to moderate exudate and its key benefits are:
- Increased cell proliferation
- Improved angiogenesis
- Inhibits excessive protease activity due to its acidic pH
- Attracts phagocytic cells to the wound bed thereby facilitating wound healing and wound contraction[2]
